The United Kingdom is home to some of the world's most prestigious universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College, and UCL. With over 160 universities and thousands of programs, UK degrees are recognised globally for their academic rigour and research excellence.

One of the biggest advantages for Bangladeshi students is the 1-year Master's degree structure. Most postgraduate programs can be completed in 12 months, significantly reducing tuition and living costs compared to other English-speaking destinations.

The UK's Graduate Route visa currently allows international students to stay for 2 years after graduation (3 years for PhD) to work or look for work. Note: from January 2027, the Graduate Route for bachelor's and taught master's graduates will reduce to 18 months; PhD graduates retain the 3-year period.

Requires Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from a licensed sponsor, sufficient funds for tuition + living costs (£1,483/month in London, £1,136/month outside London from January 2025), Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS: £776/year), and proof of English proficiency. Visa fee: £558 (from April 2026). eVisa replacing Biometric Residence Permit (BRP).

Tuition & Living Costs

Undergraduate: £20,000–£40,000/year. Postgraduate (1-year Master's): £22,000–£45,000/year (total cost significantly lower than 2-year programs elsewhere). Living costs: £13,000–£18,000/year (London higher). Total: £33,000–£60,000/year (BDT 38–65 lakh). IHS adds £776/year to visa costs.

Intake & Application Timeline

Main intake: September/October (most courses). Some universities offer January/February intake for select programs. Applications through UCAS for undergraduate (deadline: January) or direct to universities for postgraduate. We recommend applying 8–10 months ahead.
